Chuck Lavine for NYS Assembly

September 15, 2010 NY State Assemblyman Chuck Lavine has been a real leader when it comes to progressive legislation and political reform in Albany - ICR was proud to have played a part in his successful re-election bid in 2010 - a year that was very difficult for Democrats nation-wide.
As one of the original members of the New York City Legal Aid Society Continuity Unit, Chuck was instrumental in streamlining the legal process for indigent defendants in New York City. The unit's innovative approach would later be used by Public Defender organizations across the country.
Both in the State Assembly and through his work with Lavine for Good Government, Chuck has continued working for the People, most recently in his successful drive to reform New York State's divorce laws, which had been some of the most restrictive in the nation, causing additional financial and emotional stress on already-troubled marriages.
We're very proud to have the opportunity to work with Chuck and to do our part to help him continue the great work he's doing.
